Our meetups are gatherings of tech girls and women to inspire and get inspired by each other's journey, with awe-inspiring speakers. Beyond meetups, we host conferences, design hackathons and cultural celebrations such as Tihar Dhamaka.
Each gathering opens with registration and typically runs as a focused two-hour session with talks, interaction and networking with companies and universities.

Events at Girls In Technology are designed as intentional, focused gatherings where students, professionals and beginners in the technology sector can meet, share experience and find encouragement. Each session typically moves from registration into talks, interaction and open conversation, creating space for participants to hear real journeys and ask honest questions. The emphasis throughout is on learning from one another rather than on instruction alone, which keeps the atmosphere collaborative and welcoming for anyone curious about how technology work, development and design connect to a wider career path.
Beyond the regular meetups, the community organises conferences, design hackathons and cultural celebrations that bring a broader public into the conversation. Design hackathons in particular invite participants to work hands-on with ideas, prototyping and teamwork, while cultural events such as Tihar Dhamaka highlight the identity and warmth of the community alongside its technical focus. The goal is a balanced programme in which technical skill-building, inspiration and cultural exchange reinforce each other, so that members leave with new relationships and renewed motivation.
Speakers are a central part of every gathering, and the programme deliberately invites people whose paths into technology came from different backgrounds and institutions. Sharing a personal journey, including the parts that were difficult, gives attendees something genuinely useful to reflect on. The mentorship and empowerment thread running through the community means that experienced members are often willing to guide newer participants, and events act as a natural meeting point where that exchange of guidance can continue well beyond a single session.
Company and institution involvement adds practical dimension to the events, since interaction with organisations that hire and support technical talent helps participants understand what is expected in real roles. Workshops and skill-oriented talks complement the more narrative-driven talks, giving attendees a sense of the required skillset and the kinds of tools and frameworks used in everyday software development, testing and application building. Beginners often find this combination especially valuable, as it connects abstract ambition with concrete steps they can begin practising.
Overall, the events programme reflects the organisation's wider aim of building a dedicated, common platform for girls and women in technology in Nepal. That purpose includes awareness of the vast scope the sector offers, the development of confident, proficient individuals and a visible community that welcomes people at any stage.
