What We Do

Our Services

Girls In Technology works to build the skillsets girls and women need for technology-oriented careers, bringing students, professionals and beginners together in one supportive community.

Four areas of work

Everything we run at GIT sits under one goal: producing the skillset required for girls and women to pursue technology-oriented careers. Our services cover the practice side of that goal — building things, gathering people, sharing what we learn, and mentoring each other along the way.

Girls In Technology is a community-led initiative dedicated to encouraging and inspiring girls and women to pursue technology-oriented careers. Rooted in the belief that the ICT sector offers a vast scope for women, the organisation brings students, professionals, and beginners together under one roof of shared learning and encouragement. Rather than treating participation as a single event, GIT focuses on long-term empowerment: building confidence, sharpening practical skillsets, and widening access to roles in development, design, testing, and technical leadership across Nepal's technology landscape.

What we do centres on four connected areas of work, each supporting the same goal of producing the skillset required for girls and women to enter and grow within the technology sector. From hands-on development practice to mentorship and awareness efforts, every activity is designed to meet participants where they are and help them progress at their own pace. The approach is deliberately practical and career-oriented, so that the knowledge gained in workshops, meetups, and collaborative projects translates into real capability and employability in the workplace.

Our web development practice is carried out by a proficient team dedicated to delivering flexible, requirement-focused web solutions for clients. Working across modern frameworks and design patterns, the team develops and tests applications from initial design through to launch, handling everything from front-end layouts to back-end functionality. Clients benefit from a collaborative, transparent process, while the work itself doubles as a learning environment for community members who contribute, observe, and refine their own technical instincts through genuine, hands-on project experience.

Beyond development, GIT runs gatherings and meetups where people meet, share ideas, and learn from one another's journeys, alongside mentorship and empowerment programmes that pair experienced members with those still building their skillsets. We also publish blogs, hold events such as design hacks and workshops, and celebrate moments of achievement by participants from institutions and the professional community. Through gallery showcases, testimonials, and supporter networks, the organisation sustains momentum and keeps its community inspired long after a single session ends.
